Introduction

Research: Eight faculty researchers are studying on basic marine biology, including molecular cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, physiology, animal and plant ecology and taxonomy. Education: Seven marine courses for cell biology, phylogeny, developmental biology, physiology and marine ecology are opened for undergraduates of College of Biological Sciences, University of Tsukuba. Practical courses are also held here, such as for College of Natural Sciences and School of Health and Physical Education, as well as those for other universities in Japan. Practical marine courses are also programmed for graduate students in Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences. Two open marine courses are provided for undergraduates or graduate students in other universities of Japan.
