Center Use Application Procedures

If you wish to use the center, please send an email to Hiroaki NAKANO with the subject ‘Center Use Application’, no later than 2 weeks before the planned visit date. Please include the below details in the email.

• Name of the visitor
• Affiliation (In case of undergraduate and graduate students, the affiliation of the supervisor)
• Job title
• E-mail
• Purpose of visit
• Description of visit
• If you plan to free-dive/SCUBA/use our boats
• Planned visit dates
• Planned visitor number

A reply email will be sent back confirming the details after the application has been made.

If you wish to hold a marine course at the center, please contact the director and receive an informal consent for holding the course before December of the previous (fiscal/school) year.

 

Fees for Center Use

　* You will be asked to pay for the accommodation and meals at your arrival to the center.

　Accommodation in Shikine-Island Marine Station( per night )

　Ship ＆ Diving Equipment

“Tsukuba Ⅱ” (Ship)	6,000 yen / hour ( fuel surcharges are included )
Diving equipment
Wet suit	1,500 yen / day
Mask	500 yen / day
Snorkel	315 yen / day
Fin	500 yen / day
Boots	500 yen / day

　* Ship & diving equipment expenses will be charged according to the actual used time/days.
Please transfer the amount to the designated account after you have received the invoice.

　Our laboratories, microscopes, PCRs, and other research equipment
can be used free of charge.

Please bring with you other research equipment not present at the center or research consumables.
