JAMBIO is a member of WAMS, World Association of Marine Stations, and cooperaties internationally with EMBRC, the European network of marine research institutes and stations,
and marine/field stations in the USA.
Dr. Mike Thorndyke, Chair of WAMS, gave a presentation of WAMS at the 26th Session of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commision of UNESCO (IOC) Assembly (http://www.marsnetwork.org/docs/WAMS_20111108.pdf). The Assembly welcomed the WAMS initiative and supported the implementation of joint IOC activities with WAMS.
